MURAL Festival presented by Vidéotron
in collaboration with Bravo Musique present:
Blending English synth-pop and French songs, Paupière is a “neo-romantic” band. Now led by Julia Daigle (from the visual arts) and Pierre-Luc Bégin (Polipe, We Are Wolves), the glamorous and flamboyant Montreal duo, with a subterranean sensuality, crafts pop music that is both naïve and profound. While echoes of Human League, Deux and Depeche Mode can be heard, their intertwined voices sing of teenage romance and 80’s hedonism as much as contemporary disenchantment.
Naomi is a multidisciplinary artist with obvious charisma. She is now taking her first steps on the musical side of the stage. For the rest, her experience is counted in years. With a rich background in theatre and dance – she has been playing roles and acting on the small and big screen since the age of 14 -, Naomi has distinguished herself with performances in several major music videos (for artists like Rihanna, Marie-Mai, Coeur de Pirate) as a professional dancer and choreographer.
Montreal-based singer-songwriter thaïs explores the sounds of French-language pop music, both soaring and sparkling. With her soft and controlled voice, she sings about melancholy, loneliness and love disorders that often inspire her. The delicate arrangements of an electric guitar accompany her, while keeping her indie signature on a powerful electro instrumental.
