Scribe is a self-taught painter with roots in France and Spain. Coming from a family of actors, he finds in graffiti the same notion of identity game. He appropriates the vacant spaces of Montreal and elsewhere to reveal their poetry. His offbeat universe comes through his line drawing close to engraving. By a practice that evokes ancient techniques, Scribe reveals a space-time that opposes that of efficiency. He thus approaches current topics through symbolism and dreams. Contrary to all expectations, his work is not intended to create a spectacular visual impact. It is placed more where people do not look, that is to say in the sensitive rather than the obvious.
