Born in the 60s in the United States, Ron English is one of the most prolific and identifiable artists of his generation. He coined the term “POPaganda” to describe his trademark, blending comic book superheroes with the iconography of art history in his paintings, panels and sculptures. Ron English has imagined a vast list of characters, such as Abraham Obama, one of his satirical creations, illustrating a perfect synthesis of the 16th and 44th American presidents. MC Supersized, his obese mascot addicted to fast food, is probably best known for his appearance in the documentary Supersize Me. His work is recognized worldwide for combining the cartoon with a cynical and humorous critique of American culture.
