Jamie Janx Johnston is an award-winning, internationally published photographer with artistic and technical knowledge in many fine arts. It is through this knowledge that he’s found success as an arts educator, notably at the National Gallery of Canada as well as his ongoing residency as an artist/educator at the Centre d’Excellence Artistique de l’Ontario with a focus on Art Education with at risk youth.
He is on the artist roster for Station16 in Montreal and also exhibits his works at Jackson’s Falls in Prince Edward County in Ontario.
His understanding of a variety of mediums has allowed him to be a production lead and artist with many organizations, permitting his expertise to help create numerous artistic landmarks in the Canadian landscape.
Jamie uses his photography as stencils, silhouettes and references to overlay the images to the location, providing bold contrast and mythical scenes to present his photography as street art.
