Alexis Vaillancourt is a multidisciplinary artist who expresses himself through sculpture, painting, installation, mural, performance and woodworking. His creations represent compressed images of our contemporary reality by reusing everyday motifs and transforming everyday materials into works of art. Our dependence on technology and our neuralgic consumption are two themes articulated in his metaphorically literal practice. Not always creating to convey a preconceived message to the viewer, Alexis Vaillancourt leaves much room for interpretation in his works, which are as abstract as the unanswered questions that inhabit us.
